Demand & Supply
I hardly remember the place, when I was a kid I went to a carnival with my parents and siblings. I was taking the heavy steps and my father was pulling my hand and I was busy staring at the toys that were for sale at roadside. Yet in that crowd I didn't miss a single stall or a single toy. As my craving increased I started the job of collecting tears, my voice was stammering and my finger pointed towards a toy and I burst,” I want that video game”. Mother replied," no way you already have a box full of toys and you never play with them." But I stuck to my demand and started stamping steps crying and my face was fading. But that didn't work. After some time we had ice cream which I ate unwillingly and we returned home. I was so sorrowful.
A week passed by and suddenly I noticed my father's bag. He brought that same video game and the small kitchen set for my sister. And we were overflowing with bliss. And it clearly seemed that our Joy was gathered in our parent’s eyes. Along with it, their eyes had one more satisfaction that the demand has been successfully supplied. No matter from which background you belong from, your demand will be fulfilled definitely.
As we were adding numbers to our age, we started demanding more. Permission for picnics, fancy jackets, caps, that boat we use to light and the boat used to make sound while floating, tic-tac, top, marbles, bat ball, football, Rubik's cube, mobile toy etc etc. Our list was never ending. But our parents fulfilled all our demands sooner or later. Because all they wanted to look at us delightful. And they never failed. Sacrificed their dream and desire to look after all our demand. They walked miles and miles to buy us a bike. The remained disconnected to get us a fancy mobile. And they're cheerful in that typical small screen keypad mobile.
As we grew up we ran to metro cities. That elusive metro city covered and diminished sacrifices that our parents had gone through. And yet undoubtedly our demand was supplied. Even today we get a glass of water in our hand but the sad thing is we will never complete a task in the first stroke that they assign us. Strange, isn't It.?
Now our parents learned to use WhatsApp after a couple of struggles. We feel embarrassed that they forward the forwards like Good morning and Good night messages. We scold them shouting on them do you know how to use it? Don't do that. Instead of teaching and explaining we start shouting on them and tagging them as an immature. So on that note, I will request you to open your Facebook and read your old conversation, you will feel ashamed of yourself. Everything sorts with time.
Getting a degree certificate makes us feel that we are aware of everything and our parents know nothing but let me blow in your eyes and tell you that your father can dismantle and assemble your mobile accurately where you will Google it and your mother can calculate manually for which you will need the help of a calculator.
This may not be true with all, but somewhere we take our parents very granted. We should realize that while we are growing up they are getting old too. Read the previous line again. Your heart skipped a beat? They never step back to cope with our never-ending demand so it's our moral duty and priority to give them back what they need most. I am sure they will not demand much because all they want is our love, attention, affection and care.
I believe no one of us will break down to supply their demands. It's a time that our demands have ceased to minimum and we started supplying maximum to them. We have been raised by our king and queen and so we are. We will look after them alike king and queen
